Work Wear: Classic Black and White

Simple, but not basic.  Sometimes, it’s too hard to wake up in the morning and think about what to wear to work if you drank too much wine worked really hard on a project and passed out the night before without planning ahead.  That’s OK.  It happens to the best of us.  And if you’re saying, “Well Liz I just throw on something and it always looks great.”  Well, good for you.  Go away.

For the rest of us normal beings, sometimes it’s hard.  Too many options, too much going on and to top it off, you forgot to do laundry.  And that means that all the great pieces you can mix and match, or dresses you can throw on just happen to all be waiting for you to wash them.  So…

WWW 05202015 Outfit…I went with a black and white color palette.  So simple.  So sophisticated.  And, most importantly, so easy to accessorize!  Whether you want to add a pop of color or keep it clean, these two colors combined are a great way to keep you going on your busy work day.

WWW 05202015 Accesories CollageWith a high neck, I usually prefer a clean bun.  But, the whole messy bun thing seemed like a fun thing to try.  Instead of just sticking to the normal messy bun, I tried a side “fascinator-inspired” bun.   It was a very easy look to pull and got a lot of compliments – no hair ties, but I did use about 10 bobby pins.

To accessorize, I added pearl studs with a diamond halo for some bling – it complimented the outfit well.  For a touch of trend, I added a thin chevron cuff with a matching midi ring.  For a touch of color, I added a bright red lip and minimal mascara with no shadow.

This has probably been one of my favorite work outfits.  The colors really made me feel so chic the entire day.  And the bun just added that extra bit of oomph to the look.
