Style Log: Feelin’ French-y

When I think of France, I immediately think of elegance…along with the Eiffel Tower, of course!  And when I think of American fashion, I think of a cute/casual look.  With this screen print FRENCH dress in gray, I have found the perfect combination of both styles.  Dear designer, get out of my head!!  JK, stay there – there are way too many times when the outfit in my head doesn’t exist.

www.lizlauers.comFirst of all, how cute is the “FRENCH” text and building silhouette?!  Makes you feel all sorts of sophisticated just looking at it.  Bonjour!

*insert French man laugh*

www.lizlauers.comThough a little short (Read:  DO NOT wear for work), the thick material and 3/4 length sleeves compensate for it.

www.lizlauers.comIt’s all about the text with this dress, so less is more.  I paired it with black heels and a white purse.  Sweet and simple.

Check out this same purse in my last post here.

www.lizlauers.comThe white studs are perfect for this outfit – no muss, no fuss.  And for a little bit of color, I added a red statement necklace and teal nail varnish – unexpected, fun, but simple.  Remember:  it doesn’t always have to “go.”  That’s what’s part of the fun!!

www.lizlauers.comTo really pop, don’t forget to add a bright red lip color.  This one’s a matte lipstick from MAC in Ruby Woo – a favorite of mine!!

Of course, on a bright day you can’t forget those sunnies 🙂

www.lizlauers.comWhat’s so great about this dress is the gray/black foundation it gives.  I gave more attention to the dress, but you can easily make it about colors by adding a pop of color for a retro feel.  OR add several pops of color for a fun, cute look!
