Style Log: OTK Boots and Minis

Living in Houston has its perks…like maximizing your summer minis because some fall days feel like summer up north.  And over the knee boots scream fall.  Can you hear it?  “Fall!” *insert echos*  Put them together and you get this post 🙂

I’ve actually had these boots FOR. EVER.  But I was always a too self-conscious about wearing them.  I thought I was too short and only tall girls could pull them off.  Then I decided that I didn’t care if people thought I was too short.  I bought these boots and I was going to wear them.  This year was my year for over-the-knee boots.  So I did it.

In my effort to also maximize my bank account and closet, I decided to pair them with my summer minis.  And I just love it!

I love how these boots have a little bit of a platform.  Just enough to give you a little boost in the fun-sized department.  But not too much where it looks like you’re ready to go down to…well, you know.  The tie at the back makes them perfect for adjusting to your leg’s width,

Lace and sheer materials made quite an appearance in Spring 2016 fashion shows, so you know it’s definitely not going anywhere.  This is great for maximizing your closet and budget!

To compliment the edginess of the boots and balance the look from top to bottom, I added a gold and crystal chain

For a sweeter look, that still balances this look out, I threw on this ashy fuchsia hat with a black bow on the

For weather that’s a little cooler, you could add tights and a fur vest (BTW, I just got the cutest one…will share that with you soon, too!).
