Style Log: A Pop of Valentine

I know, I know.  Such a commercialized “holiday.”  But you can’t help but get in the loving spirit sometimes.  And if you’re more of a jeans and a t-shirt kind of girl, this outfit is a great way to dress it up just a bit without giving in to the whole facade of this love/hate day.  Just like a pop of color, this look gives you just a “pop” of Valentine’s Day 🙂www.lizlauers.comEven if you wore an old t-shirt and jean shorts, there’s something about big curls that gives an air of romance.  I used a 2-inch barrel curling iron that I’ve had for ages.  Nothing special, maybe a Conair brand – I can’t remember.  Either way, I refuse to buy a new one until this one dies.www.lizlauers.comTo accessorize, I went with a few staples:  Red lips, red statement necklace, and gold stud earrings.  If you don’t own a red statement necklace, go get one ASAP.  It’s a must-have staple for that perfect pop of color to any simple outfit.www.lizlauers.comThe light gray top is very simple, but it’s one of my favorite tops.  The neck is a sort of high square neck that gives it an interesting appeal.www.lizlauers.comA rolled up skinny is a new obsession of mine…all thanks to the Who What Wear 30-Day Winter Wardrobe Challenge.  I tried it with socks for work during the challenge and just fell in love with it – see it here!

These flats are my favorite, too!!  They go with everything.  The bling makes it fun.  And the wedge gives a little height for us short gals #shortpeopleproblemswww.lizlauers.comTo not be super coordinated, but still coordinated in some way, I added this peach/pink wallet with a gold chain.  The gold ties in the accessories and the wallet is in the rouge-color family, so it’s not too matchy, the colors still complement each other, and it’s all Valentine’s Day friendly. 😉www.lizlauers.comThere are so many ways to do a casual look, but this one is definitely a timeless look.  Staple pieces and solid colors never fail you.  Add a pop of Valentine’s Day colors and you’re ready for that sweet date.

Stay tuned for a preppy, work-friendly look and spicy date look later this week ❤

Add a pop of Valentine’s Day to your look with one of these necklaces:
