Beautycounter Morning/Night Routine Review

Did you read my last post about safer beauty awareness?

The reason the topic of safer beauty even came up was because of a Beautycounter event I attended that gave me the opportunity to try some products for a few days.

Full disclosure: I have not yet purchased these items because some products I have (though not as good as these) haven’t run out yet; and if you’ve read some of my other posts, you know I like saving, not being wasteful and maximizing when I can. BUT, I will let you know which ones I plan on purchasing. My hope is that this post will give you a glimpse into other products so that you may try for yourself and make your own decision ❤

I tried products from the Nourishing Face Collection and the Face Oils. The steps I followed were for a morning and evening sequence, which varied a bit, but not by much. The routine:

  1. Cleanser or Exfoliator
  2. Rose Water
  3. Face Oil
  4. Day or Night Cream
  5. Eye Cream

I have oily/combination skin, so if you’re skin is dry, the opposite feelings for each product may be true. These are all my own opinion – I hope you get to try them out, too!

Both of these were very gentle. And the best part is that they don’t make your eyes hurt if you accidentally get some of the product in them. Trust me, I purposely put some on it to try it out for you…it works! My recommendation would be to get the Nourishing Cream Cleanser (it removes make-up, too!!) and buy a small exfoliating sponge for when you feel you need a bit extra. Pro tip: Use washcloths for some every day, gentle exfoliation!! Verdict:  Get it!

The Rosewater Mist was a great compliment after the Cleanser/Exfoliator. It’s supposed to be good for setting your mak-up, use as a toner, or as a refresher throughout the day. When I tried it, my make-up didn’t look any different (this may be a Houston humidity thing), but it was good throughout the day to wake you up. Verdict: …Maybe get it.
I tried the Balancing Face Oil. A little goes a long way. Really, use just one drop and you’re good to go. If your face is oily like mine, you won’t need it at night. This would be great for those with dry skin, but if you’re like me and have oily or combination skin, I’d say…Verdict: Pass.
These were amazing!! They are light. Like the Face Oil, a little goes a loooong way. Except this didn’t feel as oily as the oil…makes sense, right? For oily skin, you can probably pass on the Night Cream, but definitely get the Day Cream at minimum. I’ll be getting these once the day cream I have runs out. Do I even need to say it? Verdict: Get it!
My favorite!!! I use an eye cream right now, but like the Day Cream, once mine runs out the Nourishing Eye Cream will be an immediate purchase. It was light and super absorbent. I felt refreshed every morning I put this on! Verdict: Get it!

Like everything, there are things that are going to be better for your skin compared to another person’s. I hope this post gave you a better idea of all of them. But keep in mind what I’ve said about my skin: Oily/Combination. I’ve rated all the items from my favorite to least:

  1. Nourishing Eye Cream – $43 – $35
  2. Nourishing Day Cream – $52 – $43
  3. Nourishing Cream Cleanser – $32 – $26
  4. Nourishing Rosewater Mist – $43 – $35
  5. Nourishing Cream Exfoliator – $41 – $34
  6. Nourishing Night Cream – $57 – $47
  7. Balancing Face Oil – $79 – $68

Update: Sorry y’all! I originally posted the Canadian prices…whoops!! I left them on and striked through them, but added the US prices.

With the top four, you could have a full morning/night routine!
